Video storytelling is a powerful way to reach donors and help more people see the life-changing work of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. We used professional video storytelling to design a strategic experience for donors, social media followers, website visitors and within our email newsletters.

Background: Each year United Way of Greater Cincinnati asks donors to financially support their work of improving lives through systems change. Using a very small budget, I designed a series of videos featuring community members who experienced UWGC services in different ways and were able to move toward financial stability. 

Goals:

Highlight diverse community members whose lives were positively impacted by United Way. 

Build a series of videos, consistent with the annual campaign theme, that could be used in different settings and available in various lengths and formats.

Results:

Not only did the videos tell powerful and emotional stories of local families helped by UWGC, but they prompted many discussions about how to better support people in our community and created multifaceted assets for United Way fundraisers to better explain how combined resources and services offer the best hope for all families to Live United.
